A refreshing update to the formula with ambitions beyond being just another Assassin's Creed. The conceit of being a pirate sailing the seven seas and absolutely strapped with as many pistols as you can carry on you is extremely cool. Beyond that, the characters are fun, the action is breezy, the mission design is improved and it also looks quite nice. There are also animals to hunt for crafting materials which is a welcome addition. This game delivers on the simple pleasure of being a pirate.
