I ranked this the same as Misadentures of Tron Bonne... I ranked this four stars... I don't know... This game hurts to rank... It is just so frustrating...

I like this game but I like it because it is a Legends game and it does many of the things I loved about Legends 2... But then it expands on the first game and... I think most of the ways it expands aren't for the best.

So for obvious pluses over the orginal the controls are of course better but as I said in my Legends 1 review, I don't think the controls take long to get used to so that doesn't really do much for me. The missions are more fun in this game so that's something. The story is... better? Better I think? It is more ambitious for sure but... I might still prefer the simplicity of the first game.

Too many characters are introduced who get scraps of screentime, even the Bonnes get very little to do. A big part of this game is meeting Roll's parents but it all just feels... weird? We see Roll's Dad but he has amnesia and she doesn't recognise him... And that's it, we get nothing more. Then we see Roll's mum but there's a bit of a mystery with her, Roll doesn't even believe it is really her mother. This also isn't paied off, by the time they have a chance to interact it is all about Volnutt and Roll stops even mentioning her Mum or Dad, that plot point becomes unimportant and Roll ends up being such a non factor. The whole thing with Sera also just feels like a rehash of the first game.

The world in this game is opened up compared to the first game. There are now multiple islands to "explore". Adding more islands is the natural thing to do considering the concept of the series, I get that... But I just loved Kattelox Island so much, it was one place with so much to see and you really got connected to it by the end of the adventure.

By contrast you never feel connected to any of the people on any of the islands, they just aren't around long enough and the islands themselves just don't have that much to do.

I don't really like the dungeons very much. The gimmicks just worsen the experiences. The fire dungeon is just frustrating and often unfair, the gravity dungeon is super bland and let's not even mention the tragedy that is the water dungeon... NEVER AGAIN!

Combat is slightly better but overall... Nah. Atmosphere is nothing compared to the first game and the dungeons are a disapointment.
