I still think about Skies of Arcadia from time to time. I don't really remember the plot of the game, but I do remember thinking that the overall premise of "pirates but in the the future with flying ships and laser swords" was dope as hell. I didn't play a lot of turn-based RPGs as a kid, but this one was definitely one of my favorites.

I was really looking forward to Chrono Cross and Final Fantasy IX. They both came out the same year, and I love them both. However, Skies of Arcadia blew them both away. The characters, world, and atmosphere were different than other games I played at the time. This is an all time classic. It is a real shame this isn't available on modern hardware.

@LucasTheYeti Heck yeah! I feel like not a lot of folks played Skies of Arcadia because it was trapped on Dreamcast (though it did eventually get the GameCube port). It's a real shame because it's an awesome game. I'd love to revisit that world in some way either through an HD remaster, a remake, or even a sequel.
