Probably my least favourite of the Souls games I've played so far. The presentation is excellent, the gameplay basics are there, and the areas are visually interesting. However, whilst there are a few good bosses, most are gimmicky, ganky, or just dull. I appreciate this was essentially the first souls game, but the bosses being closer to something out of Zelda sounds more appealing than it actually is. Add to this the absolutely comically unbalanced NG+ and you have a game that's pretty unsatisfying in its replayability.

The difficulty feels more unfair than the others I've played and the world tendency system makes this even worse. It's needlessly confusing and obtuse even though in theory this sort of morality style system is pretty cool.

It's certainly not all bad though. I think BluePoint did the best they could with making this game near-perfect on the visual side, as well as with the music and consistent 60fps. The technical hiccups that plague FromSoft games aren't present here at all and all-in-all it's not a bad game, i'd just sooner play Sekiro another three or four times before I considered playing it again.
