Honestly, a game I'd have almost dropped very early on: so many paths to go down, but none of them lead anywhere; none of them made me feel like the game actually wanted me to be there YET. And I get it, it's a Metroidvania, unlocking new abilities that allow you to reach previously inaccessible places is the whole fun, isn't it? Yeah, sure, but if I keep running past the most basic movement-options, because of a complete lack of direction, I'm not sure how long I can stand going in circles.

Luckily a friend of mine told me where to find one of the first abilities, after which finding my way through the game started going much better - and guess what, it's really good! Movement feels incredibly smooth, areas are designed in ways that keep combining abilities in a more complex fashion the further you get and by the end it's really fun to just rush through areas that you were previously struggling with.

Still, I really can't imagine playing this without a map - crazy to think that was added as an update only just recently.
