Better than the original in every way imaginable.

The combat is no longer a clunky slog with god awful tank controls? Yes.

The story takes itself semi-seriously like the previous games and the animated films and is consistent with those entries? Yes.

And most importantly, is the game actually fun to play? Yes.

Aside from "No thanks, bro" being removed, which I don't mind since the writing wants Leon to be more serious with some quips alongside making him consistent with his later iterations and at least we still got "Bingo", and me wishing some story elements were handled better in terms of delivery, I'll happily play this version over the original any day.

For me, Capcom not only made an amazing remake that doesn't repeat the mistakes of both Resident Evil 2 and 3, but they made Resident Evil 4 into something I can finally enjoy.

Goodbye tank controls and good fucking riddance.
