A colorful, joyous and simple platformer. The visuals, sounds and game play all feel like a sugar dream, sweet and fantastical. The new power ups gives this an identity compared to other Marios. It's an easy game to jump on and off of but once I started playing I didn't want to stop.

Levels are too easy at times and finding the berries and other trophies can be tedious. The heavy reliance on them are probably due to it being a short game otherwise. The world screens are confusing at first and can be hard to find levels. Finding secret levels was cool though. My main worry is the plethora of mushroom shops. Feels like this could be setting up future versions being micro transaction heavy.

A great 2D platformer that rivals recent Mario 3D games.
