Such a great game. At first, I wanted to try it for the cute and dark fantasy aesthetic but the thrill of the difficulty made me want to continue playing it. It's almost not that difficult, because if you keep trying and you get a little better each time you play, you will still feel challenged but you're probably not gonna get stuck that much. The music is... Man, I just love hearing those violins and that piano. And nobody told me about THE SOUND DESIGN! There are some parts that freaked me out, and it was mostly thanks to the sound design! So unnerving and disgusting and icky in just the right way. But all these things are just the icing, the cake is the story, which is partly communicated through the dialogue, partly through the texts you find here and there, and a couple cutscenes. You're left to put all those together on your own, and oh my, what a powerful and emotional story it can be. The gameplay goes really well with the narrative too. It feels very good and responsive. You start out with a couple moves but you gradually learn more, which makes exploration progressively accessible. There's also places you kinda can't reach at first, so when you either get the required power-up or you use your own ingenuity and you find a new item/room/map you feel amazing. The exploration is great too. When you buy a new map, at first, it will have just rough sketches of the area, but when you explore it and then save, it shows you a clearer map for all the places you've been to. Everytime you go somewhere new and save, that place gets added on your map. It really makes you feel like you explore. It wouldn't have felt as good if you just had the whole map and that's it.

All these things come together to make an amazing experience. I don't mind if it doesn't get a sequel. It's a great game on its own.
