To me this is easily the best season of all the Telltale games for TWD. Even more than season 1. Which is amazing since it had a troubled production. Skybound thankfully picked up this game and finished it when it wasent going to be.

The presentation here is really great. The animations finally look pretty good and nothing feels cheap. The third person combat is super basic, but it works to break up the monotony of QTE's.

The writing in this game is just really really strong. The relationship between Clem and AJ is really heavy. It can be hard to buy into his character since he's like... 4 or 5? But it's a harsh world where you grow up fast. So you can overlook it. And they maintain and focus on their relationship in a believable way.

All the characters here for the most part are the same. This is a game that really focus on the relationships with everyone. I particularly like Violet, but Louis has some great moments as well. The other kids don't get as much focus, in particular Omar is kind of a meme for how little he does here. But it feels like a real group of kids and it feels like any of them can die at any moment. The voice acting is pretty spot on this time as well.

A lot of the choices don't really matter as much this time, but I don't actually mind because it is in service to telling a more cohesive story. And many of them still do have significant impact on certain sections.

The best way to describe it is the game just has a lot of heart. And it's an amalgamation of what worked in all 3 previous seasons. So I really loved it overall.
