What very quickly became my favourite VanillaWare game, 13 Sentinels is a wonderful mix of point and click adventure and real-time strategy. It’s a wild sci-fi story that explores a lot of the common sci-fi themes and pulls off having 13 playable protagonists with separate, intertwining stories astonishingly well. While I’ll not say too much about the plot here, I am overall very satisfied with how it all comes together. The RTS battles are equally satisfying too with some really over the top attacks and some powerful sound design. Not to mention of course, being VanillaWare it has some of the prettiest art you’ll see in a video game.
