I got GTA V on Xbox 360, then on Xbox One where I played the majority of my time on it (level 300-something). Sure, it's incredibly expensive and it could perhaps be the only game I've ever seen with inflation in it. But if you have friends to play it with, it's such a blast. Theres an endless amount of content to do; races, missions, heists, challenges, or just messing around in free roam. As well, the ways to make money are actually pretty enjoyable and there is something for everyone.
Their commitment to constantly updating the game is admirable. I know that its essentially their cash cow, but they do put passion into it. It is brainless fun that is great to hop in and make some memories.
I also played a bit of the story mode; I completed it on 360, but was too young to really understand much of what was going on. I plan to return to it and perhaps even Platinum it in the future.
