Haven't played Eternal yet, but Doom 2016 is probably one of my favorite FPS games. They completely nailed the run 'n gun gameplay style that they were going for with a lot of really smart gameplay decisions.
Some parts are a bit slower, but to be honest, those slow parts make the fast and exciting parts all the more special.
