Amazing game. Kept me exploring for hours and hours.

The last level of Othercide is a difficulty cliff. Going to have to come back to this one.

seems to be two games. one is a point and click adventure in a world of wonder with cute pixel art, and the other is a pointlessly grindy clone of the gathering bits of Stardew Valley or an Atelier but with tool durability. unfortunately you can't play the first game without playing the second.

Economy, combat, and the ship customization interface in general are all pretty janky compared to classic EV trilogy or Endless Sky. Naev tries to add a lot, and I appreciated things like automatic time dilation and the click-based system navigation interface, but it loses the streamlining that makes similar games playable and is just too complicated to be fun for long.
