ALL THE ALL-STARS ARE HERE! It's true! Moustache man, King Kooper, Bird Oh, M- uh, Mario Mario and Luigi Mario- ALL THE STARS!

Oh yes, uh, and Princess Peach is here.

I've already reviewed all the original versions of these games, but those reviews are old as hell and they probably don't say anything groundbreaking. I wouldn't know, cause I don't read my own reviews, I'm not that vain. But if you really want to know what I think of them: they're all good! Well, maybe a little debatable on The Lost Levels. I mostly like it, but it was probably the right move not localizing it until the release of Super Mario All-Stars for the Super Nintendo, which is the game we're here to talk about today.

I remember a Nintendo themed tour bus coming to my town when I was a young boy, walking the streets of Oregon. They had demos set up inside, and one was for Super Mario All-Stars. There's a high probability this never happened, I never experienced a Nintendo tour, just read about something similar in a magazine once and it formed into this false memory over the years. All-Stars has me doubting my own cognitive abilities, which is exactly the kind of response someone in their mid-30s wants to have to a video game from 1993.

Anyway, this is a solid compilation. Every game has been redone for the Super Nintendo, and whether the enhanced sprites and minor gameplay differences appeal to you will ultimately be a matter of preference. Personally, I like playing the original 8-bit games more, but I think that's partly because that's how I first experienced them, and I have more nostalgia tied up with those NES versions than All-Stars.

I just have word that all the All-Stars are out, Toad and Bullet Bill were just spotted, ALL THE STARS ARE HERE!
