WOW that was a lot. I got all the energy spheres in main and extra mode, beat both arenas, beat all the challenge stages, beat all 120 missions in Merry Magoland, beat Magalor Epilouge, Platinumed all the stages and got all the Dress-Up Masks. This is (in my opinion) the quintessential Kirby experience. The abilities all have something to offer (except Parasol), especially the new ones. Sand is quick and nimble and can be used as a stone substitute. Mecha absolutely tears through shit with reckless abandon. And festival is here now too for some reason. The graphics got a nice upgrade which remind me of the cancelled pop-up GCN Kirby game. With this all of those canned prototypes have been “revived” in some way. The 3D one in Forgotten Land, the enemy to friend one in Star Allies, and the pop-up one in this game. The story in this one is sort of gear to ease people into the new “darker” age of Kirby, but still is somewhat fun and jolly. Magalor is a fun villain and his epilouge was fantastic. The combo meter mechanic was brilliant and nothing hits like getting a 100+ combo. It’s also cool how it ties Kirby Clash into the canon, though raises questions for me. I’d love to see a dimensional map of the Kirby world. There’s like 4 at this point. Merry Magoland is a fun addition but I didn’t adore any of the new sub-games besides Booming Blasters. That shit HITS. Weird that it kinda replaces Scope Shot but whatever. This game is great. Kirby is great. Play Kirby.
