Competent enough, with a final boss fight that is genuinely pretty engaging. At least playing through the normal mode, I'm left with very little to say. This first entry in the series is so barebones and so lacking in everything that makes a Kirby game other than the cuteness (which luckily did arrive fully formed) that all it amounted to was a nice enough distraction early in the morning after a night of no sleep.
