i mean... when league hits it HITS!!!! i like shaco

Where to start?! League of Legends had been a staple of my gaming library for a good three to four years. Initially, the excitement of unlocking new Champions and learning the game's rules and intricacies was the first hook for me.

It was incredible, especially on a low end computer, I didn't have many options! I felt competitive, I enjoyed the THRILL of chasing that victory screen, especially on a new champion whose abilities were interesting, or their backstory was intriguing.

In an artistic sense, the established world of Summoner's Rift sucked me in, and there are a great number of ways to get into the game's, albeit light, story.

The live service Riot delivers for this game is amazing. They consistently create a new update every 2 weeks for the players, constantly tweaking minor or major components of the game to keep it fresh, especially for the daily gamers.

The game isn't perfect. The tweaks are never for balance of course, if the game was balanced it'd be boring. The constant tweaking can make it difficult to play the game casually especially since its majorly a competitive game, and that has turned me away from League over time.

The community CAN be toxic, although it depends on if that kind of stuff bothers you, and there are options to tune out player chat.

The monetization has become more and more bold in the recent years, and it leaves a corporate feel on the game, as opposed to the original feeling the game once had.

Ultimately, League of Legends has left its mark on me. Its clearly a successful game, and to say otherwise is untrue. It is a gold standard of the E-Sports scene and is wildly profitable due to its free to play business model. I can't say I hate the game because I played it for years, but I have certainly moved on. I do not see myself replaying this game for my own personal amusement, but if my League buddies ever hit me up, I'll still consider this game.
