A respectable strategy game that confidently showcases many of its series' strong points but plays a little too safe to become a true highlight.
+ numerous entertaining and concise character interactions with actually significant outcomes
+ well-refined gameplay elements that present an unrestricted yet guided experience
+ adjustably quick game speed due to snappy animations and a fast-forward key
+ decent difficulty curve (at least until some units in the second half may join)
- merely adequate graphics that seem particularly poor in the cutscene backgrounds
- elementary story with a strange and ill-explained twist
- uninspired map objectives limited to exterminations or assassinations only
