It doesnt have a lot of the Hot Shots/everybody's golf charm in how its fairly realistic with some silliness baked in at the amounts i would have hoped but it is one of the most solid golf VR games ive personally played.

The PSVR's wonky tracking makes it kind of a wobbly and uneven experience and holding the ps move controller only works effectively one handed. It is nice that its practice system lets you see a bit of info on how your ball will go upon your strike, but it would be preferable for it to be a bit more arcadey in its presentation, like in the mini map where it approximates your landing based on your general aim if it were to instead base and update it on your practice swings.

All of its limitations aside the tools it give you are sufficient and it feels great when you go from 5,6,7 over to 1 under par. The caddy can feel a little humiliating when she pats your back after a bad shot, but extremely rewarding when you pull off a good one.

It looks decent with no performance issues on a ps5. Not much to say here. The human NPCs(caddy and attendant) are a little uncanny valley. Id prefer if they did the pseudo blobby humans from the standard EG.

If there is music, it's totally forgettable. I just pop spotify on when running courses.

One other detail that was fun were these little caddy interactions, like her teasing you about some candy or walking over a precarious pit. They dont land for me really, but the idea of them is enough for me to enjoy them.

Definitely pick it up if you enjoy the idea of golf or like golf games especially, but it's not really made for everybody despite its name.
