Rarely ever been so excited for a new game.
Resi 7 was a new start for the franchise and brought the horror back intensely.

Resi 8 made some logical decisions, they took what worked well in 4 and 7 and mashed it together into one game. Is it better than 4? Yes! Is it better than 7? well somehow yes but not for me.

First, I need to say, The Village with all the collectibles, riddles and mini-open world works splendid. the gameplay and mechanics are also refreshingly well. But the game is mostly bright and there are mostly enough enemies to never let the fear level increase too much.

But I need to talk about the second area of the game.
I don't wanna spoil too much, but you can see that if they want to, they are able to master the atmosphere and fear level for a true Survival Horror Title. Only thing that tasted sour was the reference to beloved P.T. or better said Silent Hills that never happened to be (crying silently)

In conclusion, I had high expectations of Resident Evil Village. They mostly got covered and in parts they were even toped. It sure has some weaknesses but overall, this was a great game.
