"I like everything about this game, except for the whole 'actually playing it' part." is how I feel about most of Remedy's recent output.

SCP Foundation stories told by a bunch of brutalist architects is a top tier aesthetic but unfortunately Control has floaty, unsatisfying shooting and this baffling reload style that leaves you spending far too much time in firefights running around like an idiot, rather than feeling like some mad super agent, or whatever the fuck she's supposed to be. By the time you get into the final hour or so you're packing a load of abilities and this certainly mitigates some of the issues I had with the crap shooting but when you're primary means of interacting with this game is through "shooting things" I would expect that part to be significantly better.

The strong aesthetic carries it through to the end, but only just.
