I suppose I enjoyed it enough to play 35 hours of it so I think it's a thumbs up

The game is not without a ton of jank. I wish these games stopped with all the random crap going on all around you at all times. Most of the jank presented itself in the form of NPCs perpetually confused as to the state of the world around them, cycling constantly between talking to you casually and OMG SOMETHING IS ATTACKING. This made a lot of conversations tedious and some quests bugged out hard with the NPC running away or caught in a such a confounded state that I had to fast travel away and back to reset them properly

The gameplay is... fine. The guns don't feel anywhere near good enough for the amount of shooting you have to do. For some reason the other Far Crys felt much better than this one and I felt a lot of the guns were lacklustre. The game's economy is also completely inconsequential. You'll be swimming in money before long and have no shortage of funds to procure even the best weapons which are surprisingly cheap. Not that you'll need to buy much though. There are a few objectively better weapons that you'll immediately notice and deck yourself with them before long and simply stick with them through to the end of the game. There's very little weapon progression if any. The vehicles are also mostly samey and only the ones you get with quests are anything to write home about.

The presentation is pretty good. The game is a looker though with all the airborne transportation you'd assume they'd find ways to reduce the noticeable popin that happens when you fly in a plane. The daytime lighting also hurts the game a bit and the usually beautiful landscape looks somewhat washed out and devoid of color. The audio is excellent and pretty uniquely suited for a game set in a mountainous valley. Shots echo all around you and vehicles make satisfying roars as you drive them. The music is pretty top notch as well with a pretty killer soundtrack

As for story, I personally liked elements of it but the fact is it just doesn't work all that well. It tries to do some meta things but the game is swimming in its own farts too much for that to come off with any sliver of authenticity.

I liked this game despite all the problems and the jank. I hope they fix a lot of the jank with the next instalment and make something tighter. I also hope they bring in some kind of economy or at least go back to how it was with Far Cry 4 cause I was swimming in money in this one with nowhere to spend it except frivolously on lots of stuff I didn't need.
