I've dumped a stupid amount of time into this game and I feel like I'll be dumping a lot more into it once this review is done. There's clearly a lot of love and care put into this game and it's always heartwarming to see a passionate indie project flourish.

This is a game for people who are tired of wringing Slay the Spire for more content like a once-damp dishrag. Normal difficulty is intended for people who are fans of the game, after all. If you haven't played STS then... probably don't try this one first.

It's a ton of fun experimenting with builds. There's been more than a few times where I've dismissed a playstyle and then suddenly fallen in love with it.

The devs are actively tweaking some weaker-feeling items and cards and there are a few archetypes that feel undertuned, though that could be me not understanding their mechanics.

A huge sticking point is the price. It's a pretty steep tag when its older brother is not only cheaper but supports mods as well. Nigh infinite content VS developing content might not sit well on the palette.

I know the devs have said they can't go lower with the development costs (which I absolutely believe, since this game looks and sounds amazing), but it's a shame that potential fans are likely to be driven away by a hefty price tag.

If you think you'll like this game, get it. I think it deserves all the support it can get.
