i don't really get much out of this. i think the setting and main character are charming in a very heart-breaking way, and i relate to this narrative far more than i'd like to admit. personal meltdowns aside, i can't honestly say this game has a lot of meat to it. actually, can you even call it a game? it feels like just a small cross-section of an average LIS episode. i don't dislike it by any means, but i'm not entirely sure what the point even is. i was told to play it before starting LIS2 episode 2, so i'm assuming chris and his story will be more relevant there? but even still, this should be able to stand independent from LIS2, and as is, i don't get a lot out of it unfortunately.

edit as of 1/3/2023: having now finished all of LIS2 i gotta say: disappointing! i really wish we had seen at least a little bit more of chris. my original review probably didn't communicate it very well but i have a lot of affection for this character and would've loved seeing him appear in more than just episode 2! oh well. it's still a free little 1-2 thing that you can play for slightly more character depth in LIS2 that you'd otherwise miss. just a shame all that effort didn't pay out better.
