BG3 is genuinely one of the best RPGs I've ever played. I'm a huge DND nerd and I am constantly impressed by how seamlessly the dev team was able to integrate classic DND mechanics into a video game format.

The characters are incredible, they feel rich and believable and interacting with them is rewarding and interesting. The world feels full and presents Faerun as a real, tangible place.

Gameplay is near perfect for me. I think that maybe every game should just be a turn based strategy game now ???

Despite this, its not without its flaws. For a game that prides itself on diversity, there are very few fat characters, and the ones we DO see are disgusting villains. It also isn't as non-sexist as it wants to think. Female character designs are still visibly more sexualized than male ones. Wyll and Karlach, two of the origin characters, have noticeably fewer lines of dialogue and their person quests are not as tied to the main story as some of the other origin characters (I.E. Astarion or Shadowheart).

BUT. on the whole. this is one of my favorite games released in a long time.
