With The Last Of Us: Part II Remaster launching, I thought I would finally explain why I hate the game in a review video because I've practically never explained why the game sucks

Gameplay: The Last of Us Part II is a third-person action-adventure game set in a post-apocalyptic world with survival horror elements. Players navigate diverse environments, utilizing firearms, improvised weapons, and stealth to combat hostile humans and mutated creatures. The narrative switches between characters Ellie and Abby, incorporating platforming elements, horseback, and boat navigation. Combat involves a variety of weapons and scavenging for resources to upgrade equipment and skills. Stealth, a cover system, and the introduction of Listen Mode enhance strategic gameplay.

The gameplay itself wasn't bad; it does have good gameplay features. I'm not gonna lie about that; it's just the idea of playing as the two unlikable protagonists, Ellie and Abby, that just makes the game feel unplayable, especially Abby only because of what she did to Joel within the main plot. I mean, Joel was the best character in the first Last of Us game, but unfortunately, Abby killing Joel without a reason for it is why I dislike Abby as a character. What didn't help when it came to Ellie was that the narrative ruined her character. Since she was a caring, lighthearted character in the first Last of Us game, the sequel just turned her into a psychopath, and I dislike what they did to Ellie's character for that reason. The Last Of Us: Part II was really hard to sit through because the two leads have unlikable qualities

Story; Joel confesses to his brother, Tommy, that he thwarted the Fireflies' attempt to develop a cure for the Cordyceps fungus pandemic by saving Ellie. Four years later, Joel and Ellie live in Jackson, Wyoming, where they rescue a stranger, Abby, leading to a brutal confrontation. Abby seeks revenge against Joel for killing her father, a Firefly surgeon. Ellie witnesses Joel's death, setting off a cycle of revenge. Tommy, Ellie, and her girlfriend, Dina, pursue Abby to Seattle. The story unfolds through flashbacks, revealing Ellie's past and Abby's journey for redemption. Tensions escalate as Ellie's group is ambushed, leading to devastating consequences. Despite a final confrontation between Ellie and Abby, the latter is spared, emphasizing the toll of vengeance.

Several months later, Ellie and Dina are living on a farm, but Ellie is haunted by post-traumatic stress. Tommy informs her of Abby's whereabouts, leading Ellie to pursue one last attempt for closure. Abby and Lev, after their harrowing experiences, seek the fireflies in California. Ellie ultimately confronts Abby in Santa Barbara, resulting in a brutal fight. However, Ellie has a change of heart and spares Abby, reflecting on her relationship with Joel. Abby and Lev sail to the Fireflies, while Ellie returns to the empty farmhouse, playing Joel's guitar and leaving, hinting at a journey towards forgiveness and healing.

I really hated the theme of the story since the theme revolves around people doing bad things to survive, and I feel like a theme like that just feels awful. The pacing was bad, Joel's death was just unnecessary, and The Narrative destroyed Ellie's character, who was likable in the first game for being a caring character who wants to cheer people up but sadly, the second game ruined her character by making her a Psychopath and what didn't help was the narrative choice of her sparing Abby at the end, despite what she did, which was an awful narrative decision in my opinion

[Summary]
Gameplay: 6
Graphics & Performance: 8
Story: 2
Characters: 3
Difficulty: Hard
Length: 25 Hours
Audience: 18+
Perk: Borrow Or Stream

Final Score: 4.1/10 (Bad)

The Last of Us: Part II suffers from an awful narrative, which even makes the gameplay hard to sit through having to play as two unlikable characters. A Sequel to The Last Of Us wasn't really needed, and I'm not the biggest fan of the franchise as a result of this game, I mean, the first one was good but the sequel nearly fell into the void perk, but after another look, it wasn't as bad as I remembered it was but it wasn't good either

Couldn't agree more. This game was so bad it made me hate the first time, which on release I loved. Ellie in TLOU1 brought a levity, innocence, and sense of grounding to the story. All of that is gone in 2 and the pacing is so all over the place forcing the abby storyline in every chance it gets. These games are just trauma porn, and zombie games are done to death. The combat is mid too.
