I always hear so much praise regarding the game, it is considered by many to be one of the best turn-based games in the last few years, but I don’t know I had many problems with the game.
while the characters were memorable, the overall story just didn’t do it for me, too many twists and turns especially the babies in two lockers, the game also introduces many elements that later become irrelevant, among other things.
But by far my biggest problem was the combat, it is easily one of the worst turn-based combats I have ever experienced, it is really slow and repetitive, not triggering fights is almost Impossible, the camera spins like a roller coaster sometimes, area attacks are unpredictable since enemies just keep walking non-stop, enemies get very spongy in the last third, the combat just isn’t good enough to sustain such a long game, for me it was just a big mess and a pace killer, I thought the other Yakuza games had much better flow.
I hope they improve the next game but seeing how uncritical people are with Y7 I doubt I will try the game anytime soon.
