This game is an improvement in every way conceivable over the dreamcast original. It's setting is a masterful soup of horny, camp and (I can't believe I'm using this in 2 reviews now) "frutiger aero". It is simultaneously one of the most unintentionally hilarious games I've ever played (I died laughing at probably half of the cutscenes the first time I saw them) and a brutal gauntlet that demands perfection through incredibly weird rhythmic patterns. Even after beating the first game twice and feeling damn confident in my skills, I had my ass devoured. From Level 4 onward, I had to play in increments, shutting the console off halfway through the level with a sigh and "This game sucks...". Then, later, I'd pick it up again because of the damn charm and laugh my ass off as I wasted 30 minutes making it one sequence further. This game's biggest curse is that 90% of the time, it's easier with your eyes closed (though less of a problem than in part 1), so I often opted out of the aesthetic beauty this game holds when I got stuck. In short, it would've been a masterpiece to me if I didn't suck at it.
