Definitely agree on this point although I think there is a lot to praise in this game. Time sink and worthless side context is egregious in this game. I def had said “thing to do” syndrome when I played this game some years back and this is actually the title that convinced me to break that habit. No idea why a 200 hour long single player experience where 150 hours of that is repetitive busy work is actually appealing to anyone. Felt like a sucker after beating it and realizing I wasted so much time on the terrible side content. If you hated this xenoblade 2 is much worse for the same reasons and more. Got maybe 20 hours into that game before realizing that continuing to play it would be a massive waste of time akin to playing a clicker for 200 hours.
