At a time where highly anticipated JRPG releases were underwhelming to much of the gaming community, Monolith Soft came out of left field with one of the best RPGs released during the seventh console generation. This game has it all: deep gameplay, extremely likable characters, a charming art style, great worldbuilding, a fantastic soundtrack, and an epic tale that removed a lot of the convolution but retained much of the thought and heart the Xeno series has been known for. It all culminates in one of the best endings video games have to offer. The Wii version's art style stands out enough on its own to warrant a playthrough after beating the Switch version, which I imagine will be the first experience of most Xenoblade fans by now.

UNDERTALE is a prime example of a game in which its story can only be told through a video game. I've yet to see a game do what it does as well as it. It's unfortunate that the game's exposure has ruined the game's impact for a lot of people. If somehow anyone reading this is still blind to how this game's story unfolds do yourself a favor and play it ASAP.
