It's a really lovely game, in many many ways. The aesthetic design is gorgeous, the difficulty is exactly what you'd expected from a Souls game without feeling unfair. Character creator is really bad, but everything and everyone you encounter in the world is beautifully designed, even the ugliest monsters. The variety of weapons and armor is fun. Unfortunately, I think this game may have taught me that this genre, or at least this sort of take on it, isn't for me. At least not now.

It's a great great game objectively, and I highly recommend it for others. If I were rating it purely on technical art, it'd be much higher. But unfortunately, I just don't think it's a game for me right now. I do definitely plan to come back to it, but for now, it'll have to wait until I can get through some of my more plot-heavy (as distinct from lore-heavy) backlog.
