Skeleton Krew is an isometric top-down shooter developed and published by Core Design, known for the Wolfchild and Hook video games. The player controls one of three robots representing balance, speed and power, much like Streets of Rage. The game has little story and no introduction sequence, rather narrated through a small comic book found inside its manual, much like the earlier "Masters of the Universe" figures.

The story makes little sense, it is about three cyborg mercenaries tasked with tracking down an evil mortician, Moribund Kadaver, and his mutants before world domination ensues. The graphics and sounds are great, the soundtrack is an atmospheric Amiga-like ambient techno soundtrack, and the isometric view is a nice touch, giving a nice depth to the environment where the player can not only shoot in a 360 radius but also jump around the platform. The game's landscape is gritty, featuring the same body horror elements found in its enemies and bosses. The game has a two-player mode where player 2 can join the fight anytime by pressing the Start button.

Our main concerns were the lack of weapons, with the machine gun and its grenade launcher being the only weapons in the game, the game is too short to get repetitive, but isn't really replayable due to its emptiness. Skeleton Krew is still an enjoyable game with a lot of style.
