Sometime you gotta wonder why only Metroid on NES and Super are the only games in the 2D series with an actually good soundtrack (and I'm being generous with Metroid 1).

Can you imagine playing Dread with each areas having memorable themes and not weird ambiant sounding musics? The only good songs this game have are in cutscenes and none of them are original, they're all remixes from Super.

About the actual game itself it's great despite some flaws: it's one of the best looking game on the Switch, the lack of hub area or fast travelling annoyed me, the sequence breaks are amazing and surprisingly thought of by the devs, the environments are the same since Super, shinespark challenges are still tedious but satisfying when you pull it off and the bosses are absolutely amazing which is a big surprise considering the previous entries the series.

They made Metroid an actual action game, and it's great!

But yeah, I really hope this marks a new beginning for the Metroid series and that future instalments will have a good and original OST because that clearly wasn't the case here.
