this is already my favorite game ever but playing this after an extended boomer shooter kick and right after super metroid really shows how deftly retro stuck the landing here. it's incredible that they combined classic metroid gameplay and shit from doom and adventure games and came out with something that's still focused with an identity all its own.

also use the gamecube control scheme before going to the wii version or primehack you COWARDS
