Just a nice and comforting nostalgia trip as it's one of my childhood game. Back then, it wasn't my fav mario game and looking at it again with more gaming experience, I still keep my opinion.
Graphics are stunning for the 3DS, probably one of the greatest looking title, but art direction kinda bland.
3D is well-used, I feel like the game was developped with 3D-mode on. Playing without it lead to some perspectives issues.
Level design is okay, each short level introduce new feature but at the end they were short on idea (i mean look at the post-game content). It's a 3D mario, but honestly could have been 2D except for 2 or 3 levels.
Moreover, the game is piss easy as it was aimed toward kids. And boss fight are really uninspired, you fight each boss 3 times but a little different.
So ultimately, a comforting game to play but kinda bland and uninspired, a "3D mario game without the soul".
