My favorite game ever. The artstyle is simple yet charming and doesn't get in your way on intense fights where it can get overwhelming. Core gameplay is easy to learn but very hard to master, the amount of unlockable skills and contents is so huge that by the time I'm finish it feels like a different game. Hallownest is the standard for world designing in video games, every section feels unique with its own theme, sounds, colors, vibe, enemies, lores, but still connect to each other seamlessly. Boss design is top notch most of the time with the highlights being the Mantis Lords, Broken Vessels, Hornet, Hollow Knight, Grimm, Nosk, Watcher Knights, Radiance, Traitor Lord and the legendary Path of Pain, of course there are some filler ones like the ghosts but none of them are forgetable for me.

I can feel the dev's passion oozing through the screen that even if it is frustrating and unfair at times, I can feel this is an once in a lifetime experience and I must finish it. It was a cycle of determine, defeat, rage, quit, contemplate, return, conquer and repeat. From a person who hated hard, rage inducing games and thought it was a waste of time - this game changed me, this game was my Dark Souls.

Thank you Team Cherry and for god's sake please drop Silksong before GTA 6.
