such a satisfying game after such a long wait. this game feels like such a treat, bringing back my favorite style of gameplay in the pikmin franchise (collecting treasure). and it even has a timed deadline mode with olimar's story. i absolutely adored being able to play through this game, go through caves, collect treasures, and seeing all the callbacks to past games and interesting new enemy types and amazing surprises the game had to offer. but this game isn't perfect, it feels heavily watered down, kind of losing the aesthetic i adore from the first 2 games, the controls being worse with the stupid auto-lock on system, the mega easy difficulty, the complete reboot with the story, the annoying constant dialogue that holds your hand tightly, and the mind numbing night expeditions that are just boringly easy and requires no thought. with that said, it is pikmin, and i did 100% the game and enjoyed it from start to finish and i am just happy this game even exists.
