They took what was good in the 2013 reboot and expanded on that idea even further here. Now the platforming is definitely the best in the cinematic action-adventure genre, while the more open level design encourages the player to explore.

It is still mostly a linear game, or at the very least doesn't force much of exploration.

Combat hasn't really changed much, from what I feel. Bullet-sponge enemies are the norm, and generally the combat sections are fine, but not welcome, despite the amount of options Lara has at her disposal.

Still, one of the better games of its genre, I would even go far as say it's better than the weaker Uncharted games.
