This game is great. I played it on Jedi Knight, which is how I'd recommend anyone play. I first played on Master on PS4 but bounced off immediately - not because of the combat difficulty but the mismatch of combat and the speed of exploration.

This game does both parry-intensive/strategic combat and 3D metroidvania map design/exploration very well, but the two feel incongruous. The only specific combat complaint I have is that it never really outright says that you have to just bash the hell out of everything and that's it. Not in a negative way, but breaking an enemy's guard is the only "weakness" outside of perfect parry. It would be nice if it felt more like there was a beneficial approach to each weapon type, but at the same time I do appreciate how stripped down the combat ultimately is.

The other great thing about the combat and game design is that you don't level up. You get more abilities, but you don't get incrementally more powerful. It fits the story/universe.

I look forward to the next game in the series, but hope they lean a little more into level exploration and environment variety plus some cleaned up AI.
