didn’t really grip me until maybe the last third, but that final act really recontextualized everything i had done up to that point.

i really came to appreciate the excellent level design, and the set pieces and boss fights are excellent. the gameplay is still a little stiff, but the story and themes absolutely make up for it. there are some whackass twists and turns and that final hour only containing 5 minutes of gameplay is a little much but yeah it lands. another certified kojima classic
