In my personal opinion, Sega's NFL 2K games are the best football gaming has to offer. Madden is more prevalent, but 2K is more easy-going arcade fun. Ironically enough, these games only exist because Sega had burned bridges so bad with the Saturn that they had none of EA's flagship sports titles on the Dreamcast, so they had to do it themselves. Thankfully they did, because these games are fun, and shoutout to whoever at Visual Concepts loved Randy Moss because Moss is on the cover of EVERY ONE OF THESE except 2K3. This company still makes the busted ass WWE games that everyone makes fun of, so that's a bummer, but these games are still good!

It has enough complexities while still maintaining a quick-footed pace. I still love the old blocky Dreamcast models and 2D sprite crowds, and the gigantic beefcake players are just fun as shit to barrel down the field with.

Only complaint is more due to the release window, as there aren't a ton of big name superstars to play with here. The golden age of football games, in my opinion, is the mid-2000s when you could play with Drew Brees, Philip Rivers, Calvin Johnson, Michael Vick, LT, and Reggie Bush. Good news is that 2K2 DOES have the best quarterback to ever play for the New England Patriots: Drew Bledsoe.
