The first souls game I ever played and many years later beat. I still remember the utter confusion I had trying to play this the first few times, but when it clicks it CLICKS. Although I haven't beaten Dark Souls 1 or played 2, from watching many lore videos, the story told across the trilogy of a slowly fading world is honestly beautiful. Probably my favorite thing about the Dark Souls games is the philosophy of perseverance baked into the gameplay itself. By giving up on these games, you can infer that your own character goes hollow, another sword to add to the swathes of lost souls.
