Super Metroid was a (mostly) enjoyable experience. I will admit, it was rather frustrating in quite a few ways, what with the one-way doors, the floaty jumping, some gimmick enemies, and how obtuse some of the areas were to navigate. I had to consult a walkthrough SEVERAL times for playing this vs in Zero Mission where I only needed it once.
Needless to say, I enjoyed Zero Mission far more thanks to all the improvements it had, but I'd be a fool to neglect how Super Metroid was the game that set the standard for the Metroid series, in addition to inspiring many other games. I have great respect for this game, but I don't ever see myself replaying it.
Also, fuck Maridia.
