That’s right. I’m gonna do it. I’m gonna play every Final Fantasy in order. Witness the start of my journey.
I really wonder how I would have felt if I played this on the NES.
I didn’t modify the encounter rate or exp gain but still the game felt a bit too easy. I only TPKd once before the final boss, early game on my boat.
I am curious about the balancing difference, and I know that big things like dungeon maps and little things like buying more than one thing at once all add up to probably make this a much easier experience. It was probably a fine line to walk between balancing and QOL and while I don’t have the context of the original, and I did feel it was a bit too easy, I still had a good time.
It was great to get into a flow state with this game, feel more powerful after leveling, figure out where to go next in the satisfyingly straightforward fantasy story, and kill chaos(?)!
