I want to like this more, I really really do.

The world and enemy design, very nice, very cool.

The different guns are nice, very cool.

But after feeling the satisfaction of getting better and better throughout multiple runs grind to a halt as I bash my head into the wall hoping that I RNG myself into one of two automatic weapons to just finish the game I started to realize that I take issue with a lot of the pacing, difficulty increments, and the intricacies of the rougue-genre elements. It doesn't help that the 3rd to last boss was cooler and more satisfying to fight than the final 2.

The story was cool but just ambiguous enough to annoy me a bit instead of being satisfying.

Above all else it just made me want to play Hades instead a lot of the time.

EDIT: I like this game more over time. Maybe just because what I didn't like doesn't stick around as much. Currently thinking about how cool the boss design is at 4AM after finally playing Dark Souls.
