The slowdown and farming for health drove me nuts. Also I went in saying I wouldn't look up a map and then I gave up and looked one up.

Other than that, I gotta say the metroid atmosphere really comes through, and I really like that they said what if we mixed mario and zelda together and you went up and down a lot.

Its really hard for me to rate this like I don't necessarily want how good something is "for its time" to affect my rating so much, and I love Metroid, and this is the first NES game I've ever finished and ugh idk, its no Metroid II, It's no Pacman, its no Outrun AND I HATE MOTHER BRAIN

pretty fun tho, see you next (zero) mission

PS: Why doesn't everything have a playtime counter, first game in awhile that I can't put a time played for, I don't feel like estimating (sad).
