I love this game and I feel that for the most part, Tears of the Kingdom gave me what I was looking for (excitedly waiting for).

I will say though that while for the first half of my playtime or maybe a bit more I felt that TOTK was better than BOTW, after all is said and done (for me anyways, I didn't do everything in this game) I can't help but feel that at the very least I had a measurably better time playing BOTW.

Many take issue with "recycled content" in this game and I am not as put off by similarities to BOTW as some people. I actually think there was a lot that was gained from the revisiting of the world and characters from BOTW, and there is a lot of good to come from reusing the same map or whatever else.

That being said, the magic of BOTW's world couldn't be matched for me, and my love for the new systems and powers faded a bit by the end, even though I think they were awesome.

Had there been a bit more to do in the open world, and the story had less flaws, TOTK may have reached the same height for me, but I guess it falls a bit short. At least, that's how I feel right now, who knows.

I feel like this is maybe still a 5 star game, but for some reason it just feels right to leave it at a 4.5. Is it because I want BOTW to have the 5 only, that would be dumb but maybe. Is it because the issues that I have with the game that feel minor are nagging at me to feel less minor. Am I losing my mind.

Edit: I changed it to 5 stars

BTW:
Cool Ending
Awesome music (BOTW's is still so cool in a different way)
Ultrahand
Good game
