Before Death Stranding, there was Flower, Sun, and Rain.

I was originally going to play the PS2 version of the game alongside the DS port. but decided to play the port instead. While the music is compressed to match the DS's audio system and how the OG opening is different, the port is still amazing. The gameplay may not be the best since you walk from point A to B while solving puzzles, especially the fact where Sumio WALKS SO DAMN SLOW (and to add a little bow for the gameplay, there is a very nice counter of how many steps you made throughout the entire game to show you how much pain you endured). It's as if the gameplay wants to torture the player and is aware of it. But besides that, it was refreshing since the game has a 3D environment.

Story-wise, it's confusing but adds more depth to Kill The Past while connecting to The Silver Case (which is done perfectly). Very interesting and weird, which is what I wanted from the game. The same would apply to the characters, which was a cast I didn't expect to like the more I continued. FSR is probably my favorite work by Suda so far, alongside Killer7 (which I'm so hyped to revisit).

While Persona 3 FES was going to be my 300th game, I decided to dive into Flower, Sun, and Rain instead. I'm a bit glad I decided to play FSR even though I'm holding off P3FES (only the Answer is left).
