Terrific depth to the story this time around, in terms of expanding the lore. It did take me a few playthroughs over the years to really appreciate it though. I still think there's maybe three weapons too many, but overall I'd give it a slight edge over CE. A real shame they weren't able to finish it properly.

Multiplayer obviously sucks, particularly the CE maps imported to 2. Not as dreadful as 2A though.
