This game reminds me a ton of Blasphemous, except less good in pretty much every way:

-Pretty good pixel art and soundtrack
-Pretty good map design
-Pretty good combat
-Annoying NES difficulty where if you die you reset to the last checkpoint, but checkpoints are few and far between, and it’s not that any one challenge or enemy are that hard but sometimes getting from one checkpoint to another can be very difficult just in terms of conserving health
-A fast travel system that is unlocked way too late, and even then isn’t as functional or useful as it should be
-spikes are an insta-kill 🤮

So yeah literally everything I said above can be said about Blasphemous but the positive ones are even better there and the negative ones are less bad there. That’s not even to say this game is bad, but if you’ve played Blasphemous, you’ve already played a much better version of this game
